Waterproof engine cover

Hi, any recommendations for a genuine waterproof outboard engine cover please. I’ve got a 60hp engine which is on my rib and parked all winter on my driveway. I’ve got a Ducksback cover on it which is a waste of time. I’ve just uncovered the engine and removed the cover, the engine is covered in a film of water. It’s drying out in the sun at the moment.
Any suggestions please.

You don’t want a totally waterproof cover, the engine needs to breathe and have good ventilation, otherwise it will just sweat and corrode. I use an OCA cover on mine which is breathable, and more for impact protection the environmental.

Hi Pikey Dave, I’ve looked at the OCA covers, they’re a bit expensive but maybe worth it. The quote for my 60hp 2 stroke is £138 inc P&P. Are they really that good?

That actually sounds like a pretty good deal tbf. I’m sure I paid over £200 for mine 10yrs ago. Which version is it, they make several. I’m more than happy with mine and would buy another when the time comes.

Slightly confusing, for me anyway, they offer mooring covers or splash cowl covers. The splash cowl covers are fitted and are for ‘permanent’ use which I don’t really need and the mooring covers don’t appear to be vented. I could be reading the descriptions wrong though.

I know people on here have ordered different parts from here in Austraila which have arrived under one week and I can highly recommend Ocean South engine covers. They won't break the bank and even hold up well when Ive towed my boat across the country try on dusty 4x4 tracks some 4500km each way.

At about 30-50 UK sterling, they won't break the bank. There are many boating stores that sell them here, perhaps some willing to send internationally. https://www.anacondastores.com/fishi...BoCWPQQAvD_BwE
