Was: Hard standing and buying a new boat

As i have just joined, very simply i love ribs and i am an advanced Instructor but have the following questions
Added a more useful title
I live in Reading and as such want to find a good spot to hard stand my boat, to that end i initially decided on Northney Marina as i do lots of teaching there and thats where i did my cruising yachtmaster exams from. Anyway there is a waiting list so I'm trying to find a good place to store my boat with a slip and facilities (e.g a marina). Any ideas that are close, i looked at hamble point but its 25 quid each way on the slip. This really is preventing me from getting a bigger boat at the moment. e.g i dont want to spend half the day just travelling

Secondly, i quite like the scorpions (as most people do), but i also quite like the following, but have heard some horrow stories, so what the real SP on the boats below

1) Camel Ribs 655
2) Those Ballistic -trans agular (something like that)

Hi Jimbob
I also live nr. Reading - We own and manufacture BWM RIBs based on the Hamble. If you want to visit me (I also own the Jetski Lake Lagoona Park just off junction 11 of the M4) pop in or ring me on 0118 988 5959 and I will tell you what we are up to.
Regards,
Andy

Stu,

Jimbob started two threads with identical posts: this one and the one called 'General Information'. He posted the latter one first, then thought the title was not very helpful so started this thread with the same post but a different title The latter is the one that has all the other posts on. HTH.

No doubt when JK is back he'll combine the threads but until then, you can see the other posts by going here

No worries Jimbob. I wasn't trying to make you feel silly - just trying to make sure everyone interested gets to see the posts.

Welcome to RIBnet, BTW.

Very well, actually

Engines back plate is here Kerching and they is all going back this weekend if we can hire a crane. if I could afford a digicam I'd take some photos!

Jasper has made a really tasty panel for the navigator using mostly Navman components and it's all about bloody time. If all goes well it may be in the water on Sunday
