Wa'd'ya think ? Over powered?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Is this lots of trouble?

Looks way over powered to me - but what do I know?

overpowered??

definately beyond the max but more worryingly this chap does not know his boat!
the tubes slide in and are never glued, they go on front first and if the chap says they need glueing to stay on avoid the boat as the whole concept is a\ slide tube.
I owned one of these boats for a while and they are a little slappy anyhow but with all the weight at the back you will have to have a ballast allowance up front.
before bidding get the feedbAck for the tubes. The rail system requires no glue and should be left alone so if the slide rails are iffy don't touch it.

I don’t think the guy has described the problem very well if you look at the bottom picture you can see that the strip of material that is stitched into a shape to form one side of the runner system is coming away from the tube and I think that this is the issue If it is it is an easy fix because you only need to take the tubes to the repairer not the whole boat . Incidentally that looks like Hythe marina Des

So what happens if it's over powered , does the boat just easily flip ?
i no certain models have kinder allowances to what engine size , - perhaps zodiac are generous ?

Hannah, ask Olly what overpowered is like. Didn't need his PB2 as he's already sat and passed his astronauts exam . I know, I took did some "hands on training" a couple of weeks ago.

Overpowered

I had a Zodiac yachtline which is similar concept.

I had a 70hp 2 stroke on it and that was about right. Used to cruise at around 25 knots all day with 4/5 up.

Wouldn't fancy 115hp unless you have 20st mother in law to sit in the bow.

Cheers

Yes it is overpowered, the new Pro12 man Zodiac is a 5.2M and is rated for 90HP max, they emphasize: "The maximum power rating must be treated with extreme care. It is directed at experienced users using their boats for very specific purposes (carrying heavy loads, etc).
All characteristics are given according to the norms of ISO 6185." I would think a 70 or 80 would be more appropriate for this 5.2 so a 4.5 must be less, maybe a 60 or 70 max.
