Ultraflex / teleflex
Hi,
Bit of a newbie question.
I've bought a used console to install in my Avon SR4. It came with a steering wheel fitted including helm and bezel. There is also about a foot of steering cable which has been boltcropped, obviously as they couldn't be bothered loosening corroded bolts.
My local supplier does teleflex at good prices and I was looking to use them. I believe the type fitted is ultraflex; its printed on the wheel and the connector to helm is a 1" thread. I'll add photos below.
My question is, will an Ultraflex wheel fit on a teleflex helm? Does it just come down to length of thread? I don't really want to waste money but it would appear to be cheaper and maybe better in the long run to buy a new teleflex helm and cable for roughly the same price as just an ultraflex cable.
Unit is quite old and I wonder how much life the current system has in it.
