Ultimate Upgrades
OK I'll admit it's research for an article I'm doing!
What is your top 5 ultimate upgrades from what you have - obviously this is based on what you have and what you would sensibly add to your boat - also what do you think is the absolute upgrade (Once you've got your dream boat).
Thanks!

An engine!
Shopping list (in no partuicular order)
Plotter with AIS / 2- way DSC / Navtex (why have to stop & listen hard when you can read the weather forecast at leisure?), sounder, and a big enough console to mount them all on. Anchor well would be handy. As might a transom with a bigger weight capacity!
I guess what I need is to trade it in for an O-Pro 2m Beam - i.e the same boat with all the extra features!

A newer more fuel efficient engine has to be top of the list for all of us on a tight budget, plus Ullman or similar sprung seating.
Followed by an extra day in the weekend called boatday so I can actually get time to use it.
Oh, and yes, a big F**k off multifunction head unit for chartplotter, fishfinder etc.

you'll need to come up with a better name for it - I rarely see Sun on Sunday or do much Sitting on Saturday!

I'd love one of them new lightweight Yamaha F300-V6 fourstrokes and 4 X Ullman or Scotseat suspension seats. Now, back to reality.....

A decent diesel outboard.
For the SR4 it would be a console that maximises all of the internal space.

Wouldn't everyone would take an ullman seat or two and fit it/them to any rib they had?!!

Maybe call it " workday" or "family day". On that logic!

A solid stainless steel bar inserted into the transom while under manufacture
should stop the chainsaw gangs removing outboard engines.
Batteries inset into the floor with water proof covers and waterproof cable glands
hence if the boat goes upside down maybe something will continue to work.
some sort of engine snorkel fitted to the outboard engines. again in case it turns over.
Fuel tank vent to the transom.
a more compact self righting system if there is such a thing.

Following the theme - suspension seats must become more common/ cheaper in fast leisure boats - that and decent ( read Garmin) waterproof combined , gps / radio/ radar / etc - in one unit - much less space and one set of menus to learn !
And why oh why cant all the manufacurers of engines etc agree on a standard plug - NMEA is one thing - but how much better if it was all on the same mutli pin plugs.

Yep when I was able to enjoy the rib i used to love going out in the very rough weather just to surf the boat down some of the bigger waves .
and then taking off at the top of others..
Great fun but only once upturned and had to get help.

Ultimate Upgrade?
S'funny, I cannot think of any upgrades that I want at the moment. Bigger, faster, flashier, many of us would probably go for that, but no specific upgrades that I can think of.
The delivery system however, that is another matter. Saw my ultimate when anchored in a quiet bay off the coast of Greece. A massive motor yacht (read medium sized ship) turned up and anchored a couple of hundred yards away. After a while a RIB appears from the stern - now that is my ultimate - naturally it would have to be big enough to take my 6.5
Coming back to reality, I think that Bedajim is on the right track with his launching cradle within a trailer.

A reserve switch for the fuel tank
Add a second fuel pipe uptake for the petrol pipe, great so you dont run out of petrol.
