Twisted Tubes

Please help!
I have just started work for a well known tube builders and am having a pig of a job with my first project.
I have been asked to assemble tubes with no seams around the diameter of the material, only one outside and one inside running horizontally.
Having never attemted this method before I thought it seemed straight forward enough and so went ahead.
After several attemtpts a pattern emerged where the right hand sponson was arrow straight, as required, but the left was twisted to high heaven.
The method of assembley was identicle for both sides but no matter what I try the left always ends up screwy.
If anyone could help me ,or has any idea what i"m doing wrong you could well save me going bald prematurely, or at least save my blushes with my new colleagues.
