I am seriously considering it ... a friend has a set on his 30ft Targa and loves it - just wondering how they would perform on a rib. They have had some excellent write-ups. Codders, have yours been fitted yet, if so when on earth are you getting her as I would really like to know how they perform on the Prosport.

Think they are about £250 - £350 - Volvo ONLY sell them through Volvo dealers and leave the prices up to them!!! They don't even advertise the bloody things - stupid way to run a business - much easier to get hold of the Yank ones.

They are supposed to work well and be almost unbreakable - nice bit of design but not a new idea - is anything???

Do have some more info that Volvo emailed to me if anyone interested. Will prob fit to my RIB - should be fun learning engine trim - transom jack settings and trim tab positions all at the same time!!!

I am rapidly losing patience now - if they are not careful I will be indulging in a commando style raid on my baby RIB!!!! I am sure they would never expect a landing on Guernsey by sea in October from one of those!!! Shame it's white really!!!

So Des could be in danger of having to eat his hat?

He will have convieniently lost it by then - or else he will say it had fallen to bits with age!!!

I am getting as prepared as I can - have bought almost all the kit anyone could ever want - just bought some crash helmets and waterproof suits - think I will need them!!!

About all I have left to buy is a decent radar reflector - the trilens from Viking - it looks better than most for a RIB and is supposed to work better as well.....

Yes positively barking.....

We did have lifejackets - flares - first aid kit - survival bags - foil blankets - even an anchor and rope!!! Sadly no VHF - it's in Guernsey!!!

I am hoping that I will be able to use the 15hp on my big RIB for low speed pottering etc - will save me a fortune!!!

VOlvo's blurb: 'Briefly, the new system consists of a vertical blade - an interceptor - mounted on the transom, that can be moved vertically down into the water stream. Its performance characteristics are at least as good as for conventional trim tabs, and it has the added advantages of faster response, less drag, simpler installation and a minimized service requirement.

Surely the principle is much the same as say an elevator on an aircraft - the 'interceptor' deflects water and thus causes the stern to rise levelling the craft? This is my understanding -
