Shiply a good start. Failing that Rib.net members might help out if they can.

Yeh I did think about it but at less than half the price of a new one the boat was only used for 1 month before the owner took ill & the boat had to be sold .
It was a deal too good to miss & tbh if I bought a new one from ribeye id have the same problem as they are in the same neck of the woods
Just need to find someone needing to go the opposite way
The annoying thing is the boat only weighs 42 kg

That does sound like a good deal then.

The most cost effective way may be to drive down & pick it up - at least you won't be worried about the risk of damage in transit.

Why not make a weekend of it spend a pleasant evening in Dartmouth - lots od
f worse places to be on a winter's night.

Is it in a box, complete and needing to go on a roof rack or on a trailer?

I'm heading to Carlisle next week but won't be in a position to tow anything this time around
but could throw anything in the back if it could get to Exeter Tuesday evening or to me Monday / Tuesday day time.

Hi Guys sorry for the lack of info

the boat is currently unboxed sat on one of chris hoyles showroom cradles however I could ask him to help with maybe protecting the boat with cardboard & or bubble wrap

this is only a very small boat being only 9feet long & easily lifted by 2 people at only 42kgs

treerat your offer would have been ideal however I'm sat on a DSV in the middle of the north sea for another 2 & half weeks so I couldnt meet you to collect & pay you etc

so i.m probably a little ahead of myself asking but if someone is heading up north in a couple of weeks then maybe we could share the costs

alternatively I may be heading down to dartmouth with an empty towbar

I used to be in the motortrade & still hold a motortrade insurance so should be able to arrange git insurance if someone wanted something taking south

alternatively a weekend away might be a good idea

thanks for the advice & offers so far

ken

Pay!! No payment needed as it's a Ribnet thing, not a commercial thing - beer tokens would of course be accepted, along with bottles, burgers and sausages

Re post when you're back, I seem to be Worcester or Carlisle quite regularly at present.

cheers treerat i'll wait till i get a date for heading home & see who's going where then

CJL the boats only the size of a big surfboard so a boat transport co might have a laugh at it however it would fit in the cockpit of a decent size boat so maybe worth talking to some transport companys as lots of boats delivered up to largs & kip etc

cheers again
