Tornado 5.8 internal fuel tank size?

Does anyone know the size of the fuel tank that is situated within the console of a Tornado 5.8?

Thanks
Chris

What is the max recommended engine HP? willk's Law suggests the HP and liter capacity will be similar :-)

our old 5,5mtr has a nominal 90ltr tank but when we cut it very fine one day we only got 77ltr in it at refill.

I think that's about what we work on now.

90 hp 3 cylinder 1998 merc 2 stroke. Good set up, responsive. I found the bow quite flighty and light especially with low fuel levels. Had a hairy time running from Lulworth Cove back to Portland in a 50mph southwest wind and large breaking waves once. Most of the time the boat was getting lifted off the top of the waves by the wind getting under the bow even when trimmed hard down. A few times it felt like it was vertical. Not a great experience.

I've seen one the same as mine with a 130 hp yam 4 stroke on the back.

Tornado 5.8 internal fuel tank size?

Mine was fitted with a 130 Honda for last ten year but replaced it with Suzuki 115 last year, engine little lighter but no notable change to performance. I wanted to go for 140 Suzuki but dealer wouldn’t fit above max engine rating

mine has an Etec 150 HO, but then it does have a different/bigger console wth a 180 ltr tank, so I guess more weight up front to keep it balanced - fairly shifts though

What sort of speed did you get out of it with the Honda compared to the Suzuki? I’m thinking of upgrading but not sure if it’s worth it.

Chris

Suzuki is a little more responsive bottom end but Honda was a little faster too end, managed 44knots with Honda only 42 with Suzuki but going to try a stainless prop this year see if any difference

I was "away" when posting my reply above and I notice now that I had misquoted willk's Law #2...

Apologies

I was thinking of putting a 150hp Etec or Optimax but is it too heavy for that?

Chris
