thames estuary

hi to you all.
i am planning a cruise south to dover first stop but i woundered if i could cross the thames estuary from brightlingsea straight over heading to re fuel at margate.
or do i zig zag down various channels as if i had a deeper keel
your thoughts on this chaps ?

I think that the depth of your keel is not the most important consideration when planning a passage like that.

A rough interpretation of Willk and Bern’s comments - if I can be blunt - if you need to ask for help in passage planning you probably aren’t YET competent enough to execute it, especially if anything goes awry midway. I can think of places I’d rather be making my learning mistakes.
