Terminology Question about consoles?

This is probably a really dumb question, but what is the correct way to describe the type of console with a combined windscreen/ t-top layout?

Its not a cabin as such, but offers some protection from the elements and I have no idea how to refer to them!

This is the sort of thing I mean:

That is an ICE console. It is manufactured by Shockwave and fitted in many brands of (serious) RIB.

They start at about £75k, IIRC, to which you add your RIB.

Ah that I appreciate, sorry I meant more generally what is the term for that sort of semi-wrap around style console/t-top hybrid (if such a term exists, maybe it doesn't)?

In short I was wondering if a far more basic, non-shock version exists!

I don't think there is one term for them. All the names you use could apply!

Wasn't someone producing something in a kit form for retro fitting - IIRC there was a thread about it?

I seem to recall it was closer to a full wheelhouse. It might be better if the OP identified the problem he was trying to solve...

Too much sun?
Too much rain?
Worried about frying brain with radar?
Concerned the centre of gravity it too low ;-) ?
Wants boat to look different?
Doing his YM and finding the air draft calculations too easy?
Concerned about objects being thrown at him from bridges?

In all honesty it was just curiosity, I'd seen them around and wondered what they were called as they look very cool!
