T200-Not a Marshall??

Well it seems many of the contributers on here are involved in the running of the event. How about those of us who are just there to enjoy the spectacle? We are launching at Calshot around 9.00am and will be jockeying for a a good position until Her Maj Reviews the fleet. Afterwards there seems to be a lull until the "Son et Lumiere" and we intend to go into Pompey Harbour and sample the delights of the Jolly Sailor at Hardway unless someone has a better idea?? After the fireworks we intend to pick our way carefully back to Calshot. I have a torch!!

SImilarly, I shall be out there but not as a marshall (My aunt is coming and didn't want to be tied down to having to marshall).

I am launching into Haslar marina, and shall get out and anchor in a nice spot. As regards the lull between the review and son et lumiere, I expect I shall try and get as far away from Portsmouth as I can!

(We have a torch, and nav lights!)

Thanks for that CB but I think that only refers to the Inner Swashway (see LNTM 27/07). I was giving details for peeps who wanted to pop back into Pompy for a snack before the fireworks.

I should think you will be able to walk in and out when the channel is open. Just step from boat to boat.

Keytouch

You need to get to Southsea Common and find a bit of space some where between The Round Tower and Southsea Castle.
Have a look at multimap etc. to see where I mean.
I think there will be a lot of people there so get in early and grab a spot.
If you go for the beach high tide is at 17:27.

I shall be out the whole day. Most worried about finding a good spot in the morning, and then some fool crashing into me on the way home after the fireworks

Tim (who has nav nights and now a spotlight!)

And Stokes Bay is here: http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...=100000&addr1=

Although beware that you won't see the fireworks from there. Mark's suggested location could be good, although you may find that every square inch is taken by big nobs who've paid a fortune!
