Totally with you on that.

I've got a couple of them and about to fit one for my shore-power charger on the new hard boat. Not cheap at about £175 but top quality kit.

Lots oif opionions will come out I am sure but imho stay away from E10 (and E5) always use Super+ no ethanol (it's not just 'water' it's what it's doing to things like your carb and fuel pump membrances etc.

Also first thing I ever did with any small engine was fit an inline fuel filter - £10 is all you need to spend....
Super is E5……….. some vendors sell none ethanol but it’s badged E5 on the pump as it’s up to 5% ethanol……. You can run aspen if you like………. https://aspenfuel.co.uk/benefits/

Nope Aspen is too expensive for anything other than the chainsaw.

Esso Super+ (or whenever they call it) is what I use confirmed as ethanol free.

If its a carb engine & you run it dry it doesnt realy matter what fuel WAS in it because you ran it dry. If its an injection engine then even e10 will be fine for a good few weeks so a good excuse for a mid winter sunny afternoon jaunt to run fresh fuel through it.
We winterise our diesel cruiser but just use the rib now & then for a blast out to blow the cobwebs away over winter

Although our pumps have E5 labels on them, our Synergy Supreme+ 99 is actually ethanol free (except, due to technical supply reasons, in Devon, Cornwall, North Wales, North England and Scotland).

I had BP Super sitting in my tank for a couple of years before I eventually drained it off and burnt it in the cars. It was fine. So while I wouldn't recommend having 2 year old fuel in anything, it's not the end of the world. My boat tank isn't even sealed.
