stiff steering

This is just a tip for anyone having trouble with stiff steering which is caused by the engine being stiff in it's support bracket.
Marine grease should always be used but even this can harden particularly at the top of the bracket. Often the grease nipple or zerk is at the bottom and pumping grease here does not penetrate to the top but rather runs out the bottom seal.
Anyway, what I did was drill a couple of holes higher up the bracket and then I pumped air in at high pressure. Then I tapped the holes and fitted a couple of new nipples I got for a song on ebay. I pumped in gear oil at first then new marine grease and she's moving freely again.
