Steering wheel sizes

Have 3 steering wheels and want your thoughts on best to fit , sizes are 280mm 320mm and 350mm , the 280mm is nice and neat but does look small , if fitted will it effect steering much?

Is the small one the one with the Yamaha logo in the middle? Been running one on my 5.4/Yam85 and it's ok on cable.

My Ballistic had one of those on. It felt quite small, looked awful and was starting to rust. I suspect it wouldn't work too well on cable steering.

If you've bought it, try it. I may be wrong, and might be easier on a smaller boat.

I've got this one on both boats:-

Looks small defo but my thinking was I'd see dials n instruments clearly, in terms of steering how would it effect it? Just more turns to turn ?

May look at those steering knobs if hard to spin, used them on forklifts , failing that will ask on here if folk have out lying about, bought one off lad on here but on close inspection it's got stress cracks where plastic meets meets sleeve for helm unit shaft, was only cheap tho

How much leverage feels right to you? The larger the wheel, the greater the leverage.

I have one of those used it for an hour before I got annoyed with it because you want to hold the wheel then use it for turns left hand throttle so one hand on the throttle and your right hand at say 3.15 the steering knob gets in the way and in chop slams your wrist. Thankfully I got it free

I used to have a knob on the rim of the wheel, and found it got in the way in certain situations. Used to always snag the sleeves of my drysuit undergarment at the wrong time (not like there is a right time, but still.)

Having a Destroyer wheel, I built up a small area on one of the spokes, and set it inside the rim by about an inch. No more interference, but I occasionally scrape knuckles on the (now rope wrapped) wheel rim.
