Steering wheel

I'm being a bit fussy, but..........I'm trying to get a 5 spoke ss 320mm dia steering wheel in WHITE? And it must be of the soft touch variaty.

I've found Rigid white ones and soft touch black ones and grey ones, but not in white!

Yes I know your going to say "that's a white one in the pic" and yes it is! But it is as hard as rock and very uncomfortable to handle.

You're allowed to be fussy when it comes to your RIB.

White is not......

.........the best colour in the world. I've had 4 ribs (all Zodiacs) with the soft touch white style wheel and in all cases, they turn a darker shade of grey after one or two seasong on the water. I would add that I spend more money and time cleaning my boat than I actually do driving it, therefore you can be assured I've tried my hardest to get it clean. Stainless looks good - I'm going to upgrade this Spring therefore, if you want my old one you can have it.

Sean at MGA Watersports in Rochdale has these on the shelf - about £50 I think, however tell him I gave you his number and you'll get it for £60 01706 379669.

I guess you could always buy a nice fluffy steering wheel cover for it!

Thanks all, I thought that because they didn't do a soft one in white there might be a reason for it. Might go for black now, thanks MeMe.

The pic is my new outboard on some one elses RIB (a 6.5 Solent), will get transplanted in two weeks.

Thanks all, Andy

I'd not thought of.........

..........that. To be honest, being the fair weather sailor I am, the only time the wheel would het wet would be if I spilt some of my beer or it - and you can be assured, I don;t often spill me beer Seriously though, it's a good point - thanks.

Good grief Andy. You will be wanting soft loo paper next.
You are doing the macho, hard man of the sea ribbing reputation no good at all.

Andy

Good choice . I have had the same type of steering wheel on both of my Parker 630 ribs and if I am not mistaken these come from Utraflex Italy. Good wheel and nice soft and firm grip. No slip even in the wet

Mark, thought I'd done that when I decided to go for the fourstoke option, just keeping up with the image .

Nice play on words with my Quote though

Thanks, Andre

A certain steering wheel just got tested by being splashed in the sink and 'driven' from the sofa to test slipperiness.
