Steering hose length

Engines moved and consoles moved. Hydraulic hose is now not long enough but reaches outboard well bulkhead. I need a length of hose from outboard well bulkhead to engine. Steering company said 1m but it seems really long to me. The well itself is only 950mm wide. Anyone know how much slack I need for tilt and steer on a front mount steering ram please?

Won't hurt to have a long hose - make sure you put some spiral guard where it rubs
