Stainless steel backrest (expensive)

Evening all, just had a quote come through to fabricate 1 stainless steel tube backrest. It is 80cm wide 1 meter high with two 10cm plates welded on for the back support cushion and 8 brackets to fix it in place...these will allow the backrest to double up as a sun pad. The quote is £448 plus vat £530 for a back rest....yikes. I have nothing to compare it to.....any of you had work like this done in stainless steel? Does it sound expensive to you?
How can such a simple frame (just up and over) be so mu h!......thought please.

Humber RIBs sell cushions/pads which fit perfectly on their website.

My rear seat is across the beam ie a benchseat and it's 80cm wide I could purchase two of thise humber supports but Ihave the desire to turn the bench seat into a sun pad/picnic table.
