To be fair the jet rib didn't make it due to wheel bearing and brake lining issues - but I was there!

Now although i didnt go to ribex or Sports Boat and Rib, if everyone said ribex was quiet, those pictures dont look to be heaving with people either!!!

maybe it was too hot for people this weekend? From the safe confides of Hamble spit yesterday afternoon at low tide, the Solent looked pretty quiet in comparison to the weekend before where it was positively rammed with rag and sticks and just about anything that floated!

any reports from the show? was it any good??

Several people said that there were more people on Saturday than the whole of Ribex - that wasn't based on any statistics just a general feeling, and on Sunday the pontoons were very busy having to wait for people to pass at times.

As i say, i didnt go to either but speaing to the manager of the marina he said it was very busy so i take it back!!

I think Ocean vilage is the right venue in so much as its accessable for most people, theres plenty of car parking and you can still get to it by water as well!

As for being on the spit using the dog as a pillow, i suspect Dave the Labrador puppy wouldnt make the greatest pillow in the world! he would far prefer to swim across the channel and say hello to all the interesting people!

Yes there was a stark contrast but cast your mind back to 2008, it was hotter at ribex than it was this weekend at the SB&R....
swings and roundabouts...
