Going down to the Ship tonight with Pics of the possible berthing locations photographed over the weekend.

We will try and plan our sailing times and ETA for the Saturday - and I will post later.

Cheers

Barrage is on Channel 18.

Light systems I will check, but your last suggestion sounds good.
Red - stopio boyo,
Green - go faster boyo
two greens with white in the middle - listen to us boyo and come in under directions / instructions boyo
TBC

Locking in - on the quarter to and quarter past the hour,
locking out on the half past and full hour.

I know, I know, slap my wrists and tickle my thighs.

I have been neglecting my duties on the SOC send off.

Grand countdown from Monday, you will just have to print out my info and that will be more info than you ever wanted to know about Cardiff and the other bits.

This time next week, we will all be having a drink together and making new friends!

So what about Friday night then?

OK, I reckon that there is going to be a good few of us around on the Friday night as well. Any thoughts on where we could get together? The Waterguard? A N Other Pub?

We should be there early evening all being well and a beer will go down very nicely after a 250 mile sea passage!

Alan W

PS. My SOC T shirt arrived today. Very good & I highly recommend that everyone else buys one as well!

Alan W,
I 'm glad your T-shirt arrived - it was packed with by my very own hands and the stamps stuck on, and your address written on with TLC.

Friday night..may I suggest a small pub crawl around some local pubs in the Cardiff Bay area - these could include the Red House - 5 minutes from the CBYC, then a little walk, to The Packet, then on to the Ship and Pilot, whatever. There are about 12 pubs, some more local than others, within a 2 miles radius!!!

Could always end up in the Waterguard, or save that for the Saturday or both.

Thanks Nadia I feel all kinda special now. And I'm wearing the T shirt as I type this!

Sounds like a plan for Friday night although not sure what time exactly we'll be there, checked into hotel etc. Will take your mobile number & give you a bell when we arrive.

Cheers,
Alan W

In 7 days, we shall all have woken up to our hangovers, eaten some sort of breakfast, maybe have a hair of the dog as an alternative, and be making our way across the bay to the send off pontoons.

Am I getting exciting, I mean excited, or what?

Friday Night

Personally I would rather pick a pub and settle there rather than the old 'pub crawl' routine.

I think this has 2 main advantages:

1. Anyone who wants to join us can find us - no matter what time they arrive.

2. There are a lot of people to meet - having only 'spoken' with them on here, and lots to talk about. This is going to be difficult if we are going from pub to pub.

The Saturday Night is SOC night, and there will be lots going on - in addition to meeting new people.

My vote - for what it's worth - is to find a venue and stick to it. (preferably different to Sautrday Night's venue)

Hello all, I'm back from Scotland and 'Quicksilver' is in my garage in Birmingham all ready for Cardiff next weekend. I'm soooo looking forward to this. It might be SMALL but it will be THERE.

See you on Saturday (well some of you).

Hey with JK there will we have to behave ourselves?

Cheers

Point taken re Friday night and one pub only - easier on the legs too!!!

Will have a think, but The Packet may be a good one - will find out if they have any music on, and how busy it would be.

Pretty close to where people are staying!

BTW - do you lot like the traditional pubs or the spanking new
ones?
