Solent Ribnet Gathering – January 2005

Well it’s approaching that time again, and the second Monday of the month is the 10th Jan. Usual place, the Churchillian, Portsdown Hill. Usual time of 7.30pm onwards.

Hopefully by then everyone will be able to face a drink again after new years eve.

Time to swap X-Mass stories, and compare who’s other half found the most useful ‘Ribbing’ present. Plus whose other half did not appreciate the 5 litres of two-stroke oil and a life jacket re-fill cartridge in their stocking.

Hello all,

Sorry we didn't make it on Tuesday for boaty drinks at Port Solent. We were stuck in Germany - our flight was postponed because of fog (we thought they had autopilot for such occasions - but seemingly not ). Was there a good turnout?

Unfortunately we can't make the 10th either - we're both away for work that week. Any other gatherings and we'll be there though.

Andy - we did have some snow in Germany, but not enough to ski on. It melted pretty quick as well.

Had some excellent crissy pressies - 2 lifejackets, a RIB hooky-on ladder, a tender (well an inflatable swimming pool boat jobby), some fenders (yes, we know a RIB is a giant fender with an engine on, but hey), a new petrol tank, a 12v fridge thing for beers, a battery charger and 2 bottles of RIB cleaner. Hoorah!

Have a fantastic New Year's Eve everyone,

Kathy and Izzy

Nice quiet drinkies at Port Solent Cathy and Izzy. (Nice contrast to the last big bash at the shebeen ) Some mighty tales from Pete and Mark though.

The Solent boaters gathering is 2nd Monday every month.
See you next time

Hang on Howard we'll find the old ones...

It's The Churchillian Pub along Portsdown Hill (overlooking Portsmouth ) and not far from the A3 (M).

Have a look at the usual directions!

If you get lost give us a bell.

Good night last night, lots of friendly banter and lots of wow's, ahh's and jeolous faces when a member of the group listed his boat show purchases.

Think a few people are going Cold Turkey from not Ribbing, get out there and use them. Its cold, but the solent is empty at the moment.

Second Monday of Feb. Same place, same time.

Nasher.

1) And here are some of the motley crew on the January Solenteers gathering...
2) OK Olly has a new jacket and because it was far too cool for the rest of us we had to take the michael ...
3) Amy (Olly's g/f) says 'enough about the jacket!'
