Solent last Sunday

Hey guys,
was anyone out in the solent or south of the island on sunday? I took a couple of guys from my dive club round the island to do rough weather handling in the new boat, and it was quite windy. When i got back i looked on ChiMet and they were recording F7 gusting F9 at chichester harbour bar, at the time we were at Ventnor!!!!! I didn't think it was that windy, anyone got any opinions, or other sites that record weather in the area.

I was out teaching out of Poole and yes it was blowing 35 knots of wind gusting 45 at times. It was very wet.

Synoptic charts for this weekend shows the opposite so should be a good weekend for boating.

Yep, I was out on our Searider 5.4, and it got very interresting south of Calshot, we turned around and headed for the pub in Ashlett, and then back over the hamble, where we had a nightmare recovery because of rip across the slipway at Hamble point, planning a bit out of sync.

Good fun though!

Jimbo how did that Ballistic handle? I have one on order and hopefully take delivery of it next week. I've seen very little about them on a couple right ups and the opinion of a few great soles on here. Do you know how tall the waver where and how far apart?

I think so, where we doing something stupid at the time , just checking .
Did you guys stay in the Hamble or did you venture further out into the Solent, if so how far did you get.

What made a more interresting point for that day out for me, was the things I learned from weather like that and the Searider console layout, so encouraging and early start to my refurb project, as shown by the pictures next day. Console out, new design underway.
