SO...Where you off 1st after Lockdown?...

For me it'll be Lyme Bay somewhere for a long run and some Fishing
Scillies and Lundy on the list too.
West Coast of Scotland in August....IF the Cranky "Ms" lets us in!

RIBase
Going on the Thames from Greenwich this Friday (5th). Refitted and retubed Sea Fury, so need to give it a run and get familiar with new electronics etc.
Also planned for later is the Red Sand Forts, again from Greenwich and circle the Isle of Wight. Not sure about launch sites for the IOW yet.

So far it's been lots of trips around Poole Harbour, and out to Studland and Swanage.

Will hopefully do some slightly longer trips soon up to the Solent and Weymouth, but with pubs/restaurants closed, there's less incentive to go somewhere for the day!

I also badly need to recover the boat onto the trailer and pressure wash it, as having sat there for 2+ months without moving during the first part of lockdown, it's pretty heavily fouled and short of a few knots currently!

Launch sites for the IOW usually gets things going!!
If you want to know anything about tides, access, prices etc., this is the place.

Early morning run on the Quicksilver 2.9 on Tuesday. Went across Conwy Bay and around Puffin Island. Caught some mackerel on the way back and bbq'd them for lunch

I got 1 mile into Torbay the Mon after Lockdown was relaxed to find I had a fuel supply issue at 4k+revs, so not nearly as far as I intended.
Still it was good to be on the water even at 5kts ofr an hour!

Still managed to tow me back in though!! Owe you a drink for that when we get back to more normal times.

Since then I've managed to get out a few times, Teignmouth, Dartmouth x3 and a couple of fishing trips in the bay. Hoping to make the pasty run on Sunday, weather permitting.

Good stuff Pete, I'm jealous...only 10 years til I retire

Will be down on Sat am c.1000 with the engineering guru MHB100 to check the boat & see if there is anything simple with the engine - although I have the service agent due to come down check their work too.

Catch you soon,

Bob
