Simple fender attachment

Hi, I'm looking for a simple way to attach fenders to my rib. What easy solution are out there? I'm looking for a solution where you don't need to use knots, just an attachment and easy way to adjust the length. I can't really find anything that fits for a rib, only plastic boats/sailsboats.

I can't think of anything much more simple than a clove hitch or slipping clove hitch if you need to make adjustments.

I agree, but I'm looking for something like this for RIB boats.

I'll stick with a simple clove hitch - works every time, is fast and simple.

I'm mostly on my own so a quick way of putting fenders out is handy.

To that end I've got 4 fenders with snap shackles on that I can quickly clip to D rings on the inside of my tubes. If I need to adjust the height I can run the rope through the rings once or twice and clip the shackle to the rope.

I also have a variety of other fenders just on rope for more awkward alongside berths.

Sorry, no photos, but any snap shackle big enough to take a fender rope will do.

I tried snap shackles - a couple of them managed to open themselves - I actually saw one do it. It was when the line was twisted and the shackle pushed against the eye it was clipped to. I have used a clove hitch since - it means there are no fixed length fenders to contend with when adapting to different situations.

I can see the possibility of them opening, but so far it's not been a problem.

As I said, for me they're a quick way of putting fenders out when I'm on my own (most of the time). If I'm leaving the boat unattended then I generally add other fenders.

I've always thought my RIB was my fender.
