Shoul we become a Club?

Should we become a bona fide Club? Would there be any real advantages?

you mean like a club with a clubhouse with cheep booze like my old rugby club has!

Disadvanteges would be a fkkn Komitee

Advantages could be a much more useful insurance scheme if all the members went for the same insurance

Cheaper parts and accesoriesParts

My son has a Seat Cupra and their forum is very active in negotiating a good price for say thirty turbo upgrades, air filters or noo tyrers.(which you need shortly after the turbo upgrade)

Yes, the possibility of being able to negotiate discounts might be good.

As for a dreaded committee, perhaps we could all vote online or something when a decision on a matter is required.

Just thinking out loud.....

RIBase
hmmm....I suspect we'd have a full on war over who was on a komittee...

We're not really local enough to each other to have a clubhouse either.

If we have a clubhouse, could it have it's own slipway (free for members) and cheap accomodation on site (cos you lot would put it on the Solent and us Northern folk would need somewhere to stay!).

Oh, and in terms of negotiating deals - cheap fuel please

......All in my dreams I suppose?!

We can negotiate group buys on parts etc as we are. Trouble is no 2 boats are the same, it would be unlikely many of us would be after the same thing at the same time.

Damn I can't believe I overlooked that. doh! what a silly bunt I am

Martini

re the parts whilst I appreciate that a Yammie manifold sometimes wont fit a Mariner engine. we all need common items Electrical, fuel tanks/filters, lifejackets, Electronics, Insurance, wopes, twailer parts etc

Whoever puts themselves up for the committee is automatically disqualified. That should get rid of any tinpot Hitlers.

I put forward Codprawn to head up the committee and polwart has to second any decisions he makes. That should pretty much ensure that nothgin ever gets decided upon !
