Self made RIB

I was surfing the net and found an interesting personal page that had a story about the project to transform a Russian inflatable to a Russian/Finnish RIB.

Story goes like this: I bought an (Russian) inflatable fitted with 8 hp Yam ob (reaching 16 kts). Ride was wet!

Then I had an idea! GRP!!!

Just cut off the hull and get the new from grp.

We used old boat as a form to make a mold for the hull.
The hull seemed to be ok, 44 deg in the bow and 26 deg angle in the transom.
The First problem was how to glue the tube to the hull? From the Telva I found an expert who recommended Zod 7096 glue. Now I have 15 hp ob with the boat, it has last 3 years and it reaches 26 kts speed. Balance is perfect!
