Seats

Hi,
I am looking at at seats for the new rib that I am trying to price up.I don't want jockey seats, and am looking for websites by other manufacturers. I have found the Ullman site (pretty good, but expensive), and have heard of Scotia comfort seats, but cannot find them on the web. does anyone know if they have a website?
Tx.

Thanks,

That's what I was looking for. Strange I couldn't find it. Maybe you should get your software expert to check your google rating.

Nice seats Jonathan. I take it you are the supplier to Redbay then?

If so I can vouch for the quality and comfort of the seats

Hi

Read the full sentence, and not just the two words "new rib". I wrote: "...for the new rib that I am trying to price up."

Rupert - I am already on it my website designers is checking our listings and making sure scotia seats are added for a searchable item.

TonyMac - Yes we are the supplier to Redbay...Thanks for the good response it is nice to hear :-)

We are currently working very hard to increase our range of boat seating available including new jockey style seats with an inovating suspension design which we will be transfering over to our Scotia range of seats aswell.

Thanks, no

I had not.
What we need now is some third party user to give us his comments on Scotia, Ullman, and these shockwave seats. Further, I need the prices of these. The only ones I know are the Ullman.
Cheers,

rup

X-Craft are also selling their suspension seats separately - http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?...hlight=x-craft

They are jockey-type seats though so may not be what you're looking for.

Have fun

Bolster seats, they come in 2 types and so in 2 prices. But cheaper than Ullman seats.
For leaning, sitting and standing.

Jonathon, are you trading your seats as "suspension seating" or "shock mittigating"?

Rupert If you think the Ullman Biscaya is expensive, then you'll not like the price of the Shockwave.

In all fairness to these two manufacturers ( I have no current experience of Scot Seats- although I did meet you guy's at Seawork), a lot of the inherent cost is in the research and development that goes into "shock mitigation" as opposed to the actual cost of the seat units themselves.

Anyone could turn out a suspension seat or comfort seat but the determining factor, especially in the commercial markets, is the litigous nature of the industry with injuries and long term damage to knees and backs on the increase and the offset of cost of a "shock mitigating" seat against the cost of legal acton down the line

Scot Seats

We have been producing suspension seats as for a few years now but have now turned our attention to shock mitigating seats which we are currently in the process of developing and testing, we are going to be launching these new seats in September.

That's good; another alternative to the two main suppliers.

The FL1&2-30 look perfect to replace the patio/waiting room chairs that the otherwise excellent Targa boats have on the upper helm station. If I ever get another hard boat it will be one of these.

The base unit for those looks remarkably like the Ullman Biscaya base unit - I wouldn't be suprised if Ullman supply them with this and the spring unit and John is manufacturing the seat unit.
