There are various claims on the net that Sikaflex is petrol proof.

However the tech spec for sikaflex 291 says it is only suitable for temporary exposure to fuel. http://www.sikaindustry.com/tds-ipd-sikaflex291-us.pdf

So what do other people use then?

It's to seal the access plate in the top of the tank.

If it's nice and flat, a piece of cornflake packet with a smear of gasket sealant each side. Yeh, really.

Or machine a groove in the top plate and fit an O-ring.

Is fairly flat, just remembered I have some gasket material left hanging in the garage. Will use that then.
