Scottish Big Swim - 13 August 2011

hi All,

I am looking for Kayakers and RIBs to help to provide safety cover for 80 swimmers doing a 1 mile open water swim for Sue Ryder.

sat 13th August at Elie Harbour if you can let me know if anybody can help...

I have few boats already from the sailing club, and been have plane spotters from Sky watch!

Thanks to All who replied by PM.

The Swim is in the afternoon, so will holdinf breifing around 1300 hrs...

we have around 80 swimmers, clubhouse is avaible for family to use if this helps!

I have deployed yachts as spotters! and this year we have Air support from SKYwatch - we will have 1 or 2 planes at 1000 feet.

Last year i think 27K raised!

will try and go to muster tomorrow, was teaching VHF radio course at club house today...

muster weather is here ! so if it drys up I might go tomorrow...

Thanks to All who helped today. In RIB.net case thank you Neil ( polwart) ! Nice to catch up again, hope you enjoyed the day.

Your crew has just signed up to Powerboat 2 Course at the club at end of August, and the crew on my boat has signed up for course too, the black rib was my RIB btw!

Over 100 swimmers, 2 retirements and loadsa fun - new experence dealling with plane spotters ! I had 3 radios and mobile phone at one point!

The Martin (my boat skipper) evicted the CAT that was squatting on the mooring, by diving under it and removing the tangled rope.

Now planning next years , hopefully the seas will be calmer..
