Safety Boats for Virgin Kitesurfing Armada 2014

Hi there,

We run a charity kitesurfing event called the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada - we are looking for RIB safety boat cover to help support the event. Richard Branson and 500 other kitesurfers will be participating from Hayling Island to Pagham on either 13/14 Sept, 28/29 Sept or 11/12 Oct (depending on wind).

Happy to cover expenses, fuel etc. It's a great day and lots of fun - and all for a good cause. Check all the details at Virgin Kitesurfing Armada or give me a call if you want to find out more.

Cheers

Dan 07930 695384

I'm too far away to help. However whilst you may get lots of offers of help I would suggest you need to consider if people will need extra training on dealing with kites. Even most experienced sailing club rescue crews are unlikely to have much practical experience. 500 people is a lot of string to get in 1 giant knot!!!

I took my RYA safety boat cert in September and altho kites were on the syllabus, we only covered in in theory as the kit wasn't available to do practical training, I guess that isn't an unusual situation. Having someone in a safety boat with knowledge of dismantling different kite rigs would be an advantage.
