Rubber Matting for RIBS

Hi guys.

I'm looking for matting to cover the internal decking of the RIB.
What type of mats would be most appropriate and where to get?

Cheers.
Matt.

Hi Matt,
We’ve used three of these interlocking open grid rubber mats. Heavyweight, comfortable, drain well and don’t seem to move about on the non slip deck.
Bit of a price hike though as last year they were only £9 each.

You can get large sheets of rubber mat from many stores that sell horse products, a country store which sells stuff for horses etc, cheap and can be cut to size, thick, with drain holes of solid. They might be called stable rubber mats.

Hi Matty,
This what is being referred to, I got some old stuff form my sister, which is great and pressure washes with ease. Trimming around fittings and or laying steering cables etc under is easily accommodated offers added protection.
Best wishes
Iain

Thanks guys for all your input.
The stable mats are exactly the type of mat I had in mind.
I think they're the same type as our dive club use in the Tornado!

Cheers.
Matt.

We use the stable matting on our RIB for Fleet Dive. Works a treat. Heavy though and ours wreaked of rubber for months. Do be aware though that after say five years you may choose to replace it if exposed to sun continuously. Ours is starting to rub off and tanks that come from the floor onto the tubes now mark quite badly.
