Dont Forget the gopro !!!!!
Gecko helmet is GREAT but far too expensive for just a few hours per year ..
It fits perfectly well and is extremely light !
GoPro is on board but still need to play a lot with it before RI

Yes - I will have in addition to the 90l inbuilt tank 2x AVON fuel bladders + 1x flexible Zapcat tank in the SR .
This gives me in total 170 l fuel on board .

only under good conditions .. my Yamaha consumes 0.5 - 0.7l/km .
Still have space for 3x 20l plastic cans .
HMS considers a fuel stop on this segment which would help a lot !

great, do you leave from UK or u going to ireland with the car ? i will leave from Milford haven, need to ask to HMS if slipway is ok and if we can let our cars + trailer in a secured area.
i already emailed all marinas, we wont find a lot of petrol on pontoon, but most marina are next to petrol station betwen 1 mile or 10 mins by walk.

Most probably I will leave from Milford Haven by boat as the guys from the UK . HMS wrote me that secured parking is available there .
May be we can meet in Belgium or France to go to MH together ?
As for fuel - there´ll be land support and each participant can put fuel cans on the van / trailer . At least this was mentioned in the info material HMS sent .

This is the first time that I have seen any VT of the trip - especially interesting as I was conned into giving a free berth to the "cameraman" for most of the event

Hi, just to join this thread we are almost certain to go next year and are likely (subject to boat availability) to take our Botnia Targa as a support boat. I am particularly keen to go as in 2010 I circumvented the UK mainland but was unable to do the west coast of Ireland. (http://www.rib.net/forum/f8/great-br...ory-36352.html ) Going the whole way round Ireland would therefore be great.

My daughter Hannah will be going round in a rather brightly coloured RIB with Mo Montgomery-Swan.

Regards, Paul

Hi All, very tempting as the last one I did was RB4M in 2001 and it would be a lot easier this time in my 7.5 Shakespeare / 225 Johnson BUT how do y'all get the money for such a trip? Om my calc it would be £10k plus just in fuel...
