Round Britain & Ireland Records

My friend & sometime crew, Jorg, is looking for a "challenging" task for his new found collegues in the RAF. Does anyone know (Mr Priddy?) of a recorded RIB circumnavigation of the British Isles? If so, what about possibly non-stop (i.e. no landings but fueling on water)?
Also is there a definitive place to review Rib-related records or first-times? John, could Ribnet fill a gap?

The team of Spirit of Cardiff hold the official world record for the circumnavigation of the British Isles (2200 NM) and would be proud to give it to any one who wants to challenge it.
under UIM rules you are not allowed to refuel from a water based station ie barge or aircraft, if you were, then we would be doing it this year on Around the World. You either go for register for assisted or unassisted. Unassisted is non stop and assisted is refueling in a harbour designed and use for leisure or commercial use.

You cannot back date any boating record so unfourtunatly if it was not ratified by the RYA /UIM then it is not classified as a record. We had to take a bitter pill back in 1998 when we succesfully did the London - Monte Carlo trip. Although it was timed off by the Bridge Master of Tower Bridge and timed in by a leading Italian Powerboat Driver from the Monaco Yacht club the RYA would not ratify or accept it as a world record. 3 years latter Fabio Buzzi comes from Monaco - London and he gets the World record. Our time stands at 99 hours 12 min and 15 seconds and you can bet your bottom dollar that someone will try to better Fabbio's time, not succeed and then claim the under 50 foot record for Monaco!!! I wonder who that will be?

Contact the RYA in the first instance when you want to challenge a record then dig deep into your pocket because it ain't cheap.

The two records that we have just received for trips in 1999 cost just short of £1000. We are looking for a sponsor just to pay the officials and registration for Around the World! (which is only 11 weeks away)
