You sure it wasnt 38kts not mph? I'd expect it to be faster tbh. My guess would be you'll be around 50kts ish with the 350 outboard

Hi beamishken
Not sure how fast the 250 went the person I bought it off briefly mentioned it the speed must of been in knots. 50 knots is quick.
Cheers Kevin

Hi All
It's been a while, had to stop the rib refurb as l had to put it in storage as I got my roof redone, and the scaffolding was up longer than expected plus holidays but back on it now. Finished the third layer on the deck just 2 more to do to finish the deck.

Hi All
That's layer 3 ready for the resin. Someone I know was speaking to someone that worked for ribeye and they said they have 6 layers of 600csm on the deck and transom. I was going to have 4 layers on the deck and 5 on the transom, is that a correct amount.
Cheers Kevin

I'd say what you have put on should be enough but if the builders are using a bit more then I guess they think it needs it. The deck isn't as Important imho but the transom needs to be beefy for the engine your fitting

Hi Ken
I did think 6 layers was extreme but yes the outboard is big. I think I will stick to 6 layers on the transom and 5 on the deck, 600csm is a pain to work with and was worried about the weight of it.
Cheers Kevin

Hi Fred
Yes I have finished the transom with 6 layers on it and have 2 more layers to finish the deck but need to build the front locker first before the I can put the last 2 layers on. But storm Amy damage my poly tunnel the rib is in so need to fix that before I can carry on.
Cheers Kevin

2nd hand fuel tank
Hi All
Just a quick question, Does anyone buy 2nd hand stainless steel fuel tanks. I have the old 200ltr fuel tank and 25ltr Suzuki wee portable fuel tank that I don't need and would anyone buy them or just scrap them.
Cheers Kevin

Hi all
Got y layers on the transom now, I got all the the glass cut for layer 4 on the deck and laid out to resin the next day, when I came to resin it found a cat had got into the poly tent and pissed over the glass .
Had to start over cutting the glass again for resin tomorrow.
Bloody cats.
Cheers Kevin

Front Locker
Managed to get the layer 4 down on the deck and 5 layers on the transom. Now able to rebuild the front locker . The front locker is wider the a sheet of ply, would you butt they together and bond them or do a tongue and groove joints with resin?.
Cheers Kevin

Friend of mine (of this parish) winterised his RIB under a heavy cover - uncovered her in the spring to discover one had overwintered in it. Ripped every seat cover on her and generally made itself at home. In my experience, cats are strongly drawn to boats, possibly because they are expressly forbidden to set foot on them...

The funny thing is it won't go into the back garden because of the dog, it walks round it on the fence.
