We Solent owners love a Ribeye, especially with mushrooms, onion rings and a couple of sachets of English mustard. Seriously, I was chatting to a pal at the boys cricket match last week. He bought a new Ribeye with a Yam 4stroke and all the bells and whistles, said he should have done his homework and bought something else. He said " The tubes are not made of Hypalon but Hypatex" and that "the sun had turned it into a shocking mess" and also that he had been "seduced by the go-faster stripes". Quote-unquote.

Seems strange when all other RIBEYE owners on this forum have good things to say about their boats.

Are you sure you're not lying Alice?

Very satisfied Ribeye owners x 2

Well myself and a mate both have the Playtime 500 Ribeye with 80HP Yam 4-strokes. Tubes ARE HYPALON (I have the specification invoices to prove it)

We both have kids, and dogs and regularly go cruising / sking / wakeboarding with our craft laiden to the gunwales!

Apart from a good wash at the end of the day no other maintainence required.

Mine is 1 year newer but neither boats show any sign of wear & tear....tough as old boots mate.

As far as rough-sea-handling goes...Recently got caught in 8-10ft standing waves crossing the River Orwell entrance..No drama

I accept that Ribeyes arn't designed to the industrial spec of Humbers etc btu I'll take the Pepsi challenge against other 5m Ribs any day of the week.

its so funny on here you all get so worked up.

All the ribs on the market serve a obvious purpose yuley, no one denies that however the rib in question would never do 70kts.

in regards to why do scorpion owners slagging ribeye is because we all have a laugh at winding you ribeyes up its irresitable.

enjoy

Well, Pop...I think the joke is more on you as I've never seen any RIBEYE owners slating any other peoples boats on here.

If you get enjoyment from doing that so be it, but yes it does wind me up as I enjoy owning and using my RIBEYE probably as much as you enjoy your Scorpion, and pride of ownership is part of that.

nice to see the scorp boys and girls lightening up a bit, the retrospectively named light banter and windup may not have been seen that way by the ribeye owners, as indeed the scorp owners might take a bit of dislike to their boats being slagged off even if it is in gest.

its like engines, you go for the one that you like or has good service and support local to you, folks choose different boats for different reasons and of course to fit their budget.

was over at cowes at the weekend and loads of ribeyes over there..

I guess i am lucky in having an osprey as no one seems to give them a slagging or bad press

Pleased to hear it, and pleased you are so easily entertained.

For general information, and in a very loosely connected way, a RIBEYE may be assisting in entertaining you shortly in a very different way.

If you like Harry Potter films, the making of the Harry Potter 5 is currently underway, and includes some exciting action shots on the Thames.

The production company have chartered a RIBEYE 750 to mount one of the the cameras for the fast shots down the river.

So as you sit back in your local cinema enjoying the amazing film, rest assured that the incredible scenes unfolding before you were brought to you by my RIBEYE.

...and yes, the camera stayed on the boat, and yes the boat stayed in one piece, and no the boat didn't reach 70 mph.

That's OK, I was looking at the Scorpion website earlier and the smallest one weighs 2 tonnes according to the manufacturer, so you can wind 'em up and they will never catch you, prolly need about 1000hp just to get it on the plane, dunno what the hull is made out of must be reinforced concrete at that weight, great big lardy things you want to get a nice boat like a Humber, a third of the weight

[Coat on and heading for the door rather swiftly]
