RIB refurb

Well its over 10 years since my last "refurb" post on here.

Since then I've become a full time marine electrician, and had a fair few boats but none justified a RIBnet refurb thread.

there's a prize for those who can guess the boat... Ribraf can't enter.

Are those separate seat pods or one full length one with 2 cushions per side?

Sorry I'm waiting too... the boat is in Dartmouth with Ed (Ribraf / "ribtube") and I'm some hundreds of miles away in Kent.

You can pass the time reading my 2003/4 refurb thread: http://www.rib.net/forum/f16/new-toy...-one-3041.html

Yep

I am a fellow ballistic owner, but I only have the baby 6.5 - but would love to meet up for a ballistic trip! I think they are brilliant boats and I love looking at other peoples so that I can steal tips

More photos

Outside and cleaned (thanks Ed)

JBT are supplying some new ballistic decals and Ed's got to remount the A-Frame then I'm due to pick up on 17th.

I was hoping to bring back to Ramsgate by sea but I'd say there is little chance of this with the weather we've been having.

The boat then needs a rewire and some new electronics. Maiden voyage might be McRib launch on 9th March.

Interestingly Ballistics aren't spec'ed with elephant trunks. They have a splash well and a bilge pump which although adequate in day-2-day use, in my experience is inadequate should the worst happen.

I have to admit to "stuffing" good and proper more than once, and thus I've had Ed fit two 4" trunks. I actually didn't know he'd done this yet but I've spotted them in the photo !!
