Rib for my boat (Newbie)

Hi

I'm new to this forum, sorry I'm sure you get asked this question a lot. Since I know little about this subject the following may be very naive. We currently have an Avon 310 Rover with 6HP Mercury 4 stroke. We're looking for a significant upgrade for our new boat

I am looking for a recomendation for a good quality rib for my 50ft motor boat ( beam 4.50m).

It will be fitted onto electric davits (sorry don't know the load capacity)

We are looking for the following specification:

Must take five people, must have a steering wheel, fast upto say 40 Knots, safe, reliable, not look to big nor to heavy to sit on the back of the boat.

Easy to drive (for adults and a 15 year old).

It's a general fun runabout only. Must suit a cream hull (not white).

We think we want a Jet but any advice, suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I don't know if the rules of the forum allow, but advice on possible dealers would also be great (we're based on the Hamble).

Thank you in advance

Martin

I'm sure most would agree...

.....Avon do make very good ribs and inflatables with plenty of options with respect to engines etc. I had a 3.5m supersport rib a few years back with a yamaha 25hp (slightly too big, rated for 18hp!). It was very eay to handle and would tow a skier (as long as it wasn't Robbie Coltrane!). Also two people could easily carry the boat up the beach etc.

try these.....

You don't say where you are but BHG marine are in bucklers hard and I think alladins cave chandlerys (hamble/swanwick) are also agents for Avon. Stick with what you know I say, for choice in the size range you require and availability they may be hard to beat.
