RIB event / conference

I would like to float an idea.

We have been talking about next year and are considering organising a RIB weekend here in Southampton to coincide with one of the RIB shows.

Aimed at Leisure Ribbers we would run a number of workshops with a few guest speakers and maybe an evening RIB blast before a few beers. The following day would be free to attend the show. The plan would be to keep the cost low.

Does this sound of interest?

rib event

Thanks for interest. Parking is no problem, neither is trailer storage, we don't have a slip on site but there are plenty near by, I can organise overnight berthing if necassary with the marina.

Evening social is an absolute definate

Hi Doug

Sounds like a great idea.
If I can help in any way please don't be scared to ask, happy to help out.
Maybe run a DSC/Radio workshop?

Good luck with the project

Best regards

Jon

Jon thats a good idea, do you have the equipment to actually measure a VHF output to confirm its somewhere near 25 watts, can a radio ariel be measured to see if its working properly, sort of a health check on your VHF system for a nominal fee if peeps bring there ribs along ?

Sorry, only just read this. Great idea, we'd be up for it (assuming it doesn't clash with any sailing!).

Doug,

If you could give us plenty of notice of dates please. I need to book time off work if I'm on shift. Not a problem with a decent amount of notice.

Pete

All of the above can be done.
I have done radio health checks before for the aviation market at a weekend show, no reason why this could not be set up for this event.

Regards
