I think your tenner will be long gone before you get to Joe's! Its normal practice for the first round to be in the boat club! I have warned Charles to get in on the first round if you are at the bar!

Gits!

Started in Joe's, dined at Harry's and ended the night (last one out) at the boat club in the excellent company of the extended McLaughlin clan....

...bit dodge this morning

BUT, I can now recommend a Specific Cure for hangovers:

Take the 1050 for a blast and let the 53kt slipstream massage yer knotted brow...

You missed a Good Day. It kinda began to take shape in the Club House at 0130hrs when Tom forgot himself and suggested that donegaldan take the 600hp, 10.5 meter rib they affectionately call "The Beast" for a quick spin later in the morning. I retired happy in the sure knowledge that whatever followed in the morning - it wouldn't be boring

And it wasn't. In fact, the morning saw the pair of us tooling south in the Redbay Stormforce 850 Prototype. She has the Yanmar 315hp straight six paired with the ZT350 leg (counter-rotating prop). I'd run her once before under careful supervision and liked her but this was my chance! I liked her a lot. She tips along effortlessly making 30kts plus at 3000rpm and we ran her up to 42kts at 4000rpm. She is well planted and while she's a big girl, she handles well. Her weight and deep hull mean that she doesn't really notice chop. I'd like to try her in bigger seas to see what she's like, good I reckon...

That's her in blue with the Beast behind.

We returned just in time to stand aside as Redbay RNLI launched the 85 to recover drifting divers and their dead stick boat. If the diver cox'n had called it on the VHF, not the mobile, they would have been rescued half an hour earlier - by us. Lesson there folks.

All the while donegaldan had been fretting and checking his mobile (c/w charts). Once he gots his mitts on the 1050 all was revealed. Lough Swilly RNLI (his station) were once again returning a reserve Tyne Class to Troon. He knew they'd be exiting Rathlin Sound as we fitted our feet into the straps and dialed the ScotSeats up. It was a bit of a blur after that. I'm fairly sure I saw 53kts briefly. Very soon I saw surprised faces on the Tyne. Having annoyed them for a bit we checked the plotter for a return course. I was slightly surprised to see that we were half way to Scotland... Smacks when we got back to Redbay then
I took her back at a more sedate 40kts which she makes at just below 5000rpm. The ScotSeats work nicely at these speeds, making it feel very relaxed indeed. It was my first time the wheel of something this big so backing her into Redbay quay was fun

The Suzi 300s have a great roar when you plant them, but when we stopped I actually thought they had cut out, so quiet are they. This rig is for sale and if I had the money....

Speaking of money, when we got back from terrorising the RNLI, someone purchased the Stormforce 6.5m previously known as the willkcraft.

So I'm ribless...

Best of luck to the new owner, I hope she brings him as much pleasure and enjoyment as she did me

Nothing wrong with 4 meter sea going ships :-)
just cause Willk is now on a soft bottom as apposed to GRP !
We can now consider him an oversized fender...

Provided your boat is the 1050 beast

I'm just looking for a replacement fender!

Glad you got her sold - now tell everyone what you're buying

Are you going to steal the Beast under Donegaldan's nose?

You are remarkably well informed Callum. Do you have Kin this side of the pond?

She's coming together at last. I must live up to the bad name that Lanky gave me on here and bum a run on her some arvo

There could be a clue in the surname!! Maybe he is related to the new owner of the 1050?
Whatever I am sure you will get to the bottom of it
