I know the boat and owner- Its in very good condition and very well maintained. He's been all over the west cost in it and afaik is only selling it as he has bought a hard boat.
Well worth a look at that price.

Holy Sh1t - that's gonna be one fast Redbay

Max recommended Hp is 175, I've helmed a single jockey console 6.1 with a 115 Ficht and she was nippy enough (33kts, four up).

They are highly rated by His Ribness, HMS, and I can confirm that they're sure footed and stable. Very beamy too, which leaves good space for kit etc. No idea about the price, they make/sell so few of them, but it seems like a good starting point for negotiation.

Can't you talk him into a real rib?

I thought it appeared a heap of gee gees for a 6m boat. If HMS rates it, it'll do my pal.

He thought he'd make-do.

Ebay

Funny how the price slightly decreases when you use ebay...
He was good to leave the "Make Offer"

It is a lot of engine for that boat, but at least its a LS, and transom is full height.
Be interested to see what freeboard is there when she is in the water.
Other than that, wish i had the money :-(

the ebay listing says it's 1996. If that's right, it's been very well looked after for the last 14 years. I didn't think the HPDI had been around that long?

Insurance

Mollers, all very nice and dandy for your mate, but is he going to have a problem with insurance should he ever have to make a claim? HPDi 200 on a boat rated for 175 max

So one ad is 2006, the other 1996. Andy Gee will know which is correct.

I hope it's 1996 - 'cos it would mean that the Willkraft had increased hugely in value

Isn't there some question over the life expectancy of the HPDI motors? IIRC the 150s were prone to High Probability of Destructive Incident. Not sure whether the 200s were similarly afflicted.

Good 'nuff.

I'd be guessing, but the Navman kit and new trailer suggest that he "2nd fixed" the boat himself. No bad thing possibly, just a pointer.

Situation Normal for DIY rib owners, of course
