Craig,

I do wonder if you are targetting the right audience on this forum. Most of the folks here are old enough to have been responsible for voting Maggie Thatcher into power and therefore never going to under take anything as dangerous as Zap Cat racing, instead we much prefer to watch and make comments like "oooh, ouch, that must have hurt"

What you need to do is poach someone from another sport involving agility and complete lack of fear. Suggest, wind surfing, rock climbing or parachuting type forums might find someone suitably certified. Afterall they don't need to know anything about racing, just own a wet suit and have a desire to live by staying in the boat.

Pete

Oi Pete!
Just don't assume that we're all like that, some of us are still agile and full of daredevil spirit, I for one am a keen windsurfer and have had many hairy moments out in the ogin. True my boards don't get the use they once had and thinking about of it my wife has kept suggesting I sell them to make some space,OK I haven't used them for a year, well two, no hang on, for several years now which is really why I bought the RIB, it is after all so much more comfortable.Yes of course I was at voting age at Maggie's first election win but that was only a couple of years ago. True my son's rugby team do hit extraordinarily hard, I winced several times at their last match at the ferocity of the clashes (it must have hurt) but in no way do I accept any of your comments!!!
Ps Nice Rib!

Hi Craig

Went on the Zapcat stand at the london boat show and had a chat with the girl who does all the organisation for Zapcat racing, she was telling us how there are loads of people looking to co pilot.I can't remember her name but if you contact whoever it is who arranges the races I'm sure they will know her.

Kernow hi,

If I was a decade younger then I would probably take Craig up on his offer but now that I am over forty its all down hill. Slippers, pipe and a cardigan are looming.

BTW what sort of speed do you get out of the Ribtec. Just fitting a Yam 90 to mine. Should be a spirited little boat.

Pete

Hell, if it weren't for some slight geography issues... I'd be in like a dirty shirt.

You should get some zapcat shipped over. I bet they would sell like hot cakes.

not actually seen any zapcating yet, what does the co-pilot have to do?
also, is there some kind of ideal weight for them?

I would be lookiin for someone who is not to heavy but then not to light. They need to be quite strong and manoverble. Check out wot zapcats are about on www.zapcat-racing.com

A copilot comprised of 12-13 stones? Wouldn't he sink if he went overboard?

There is a company on Vancouver Island that distributes zapcats. Next time I'm in British Columbia I'll try to check it out. They also carry the Gemini GRX 420 surf and the 470 Dive which seem like excellent boats. Have any you had experience with either of these?
