If my last raise of the pot was £ 20-00, why would I be rattled by your raise of 50p....

What page of Poker Psychology is the "cleaned out" bluff? I think you're committed to putting Fi in the navigator's seat and you'll go higher...

Carly - I don't have a problem with syndicates - it's the total that counts!

BTW Fi would be my first choice!

Now you're cooking.

Mrs W sabotaged my negotiations with our kitchen fitters in the same way. I was refusing to pay their bill in full for a number of reasons and one of them was the quality of the tiling. The guy agreed that he had seen better tiling and we were in our entrenched positions about the size of reduction. To try to gain a bit more leverage, I then said "Well of course, I could be arsey and make you rip out the tiling and do it properly from scratch"

Just as the full implications of this were descending on him, in walks Mrs W and announces "Yes, but we don't want all that mess again, do we ?"

So we settled for his figure...Thank you, dear.

something similar with this chap who asked me to have a look at a car with him. His opening line to the salesman was along the lines of " whow what a lovely car I can't wait to drive it this summer" Needless to say out went the discount !!!!!
