tim - would a voice over be better than the music? that way you can get your "selling points" across and explain what we are seeing.

Beat me to it have the videos but not sorted on screen image yet. My only thoughts are maybe lose the first bits at the buildings at marina entrance as it does not promote you and possibly a voice over on some parts telling customers what you do. Great idea putting it on Tim.

The video is great - it avoids the main pet hate of mine - so many people only let you watch the video in a window the size of a postage stamp. It looks pretty high res and it can be full screened.

It is also great it's on Youtube - very good free advertising that a lot of people are slow to catch onto.

Drawbacks?

Well yes the music is awful - needs to be more inspiring(unless you are aiming at OAPs) and I agree a voice over is essential - you need to explain what the people are doing and why.

Get that sorted and it's a winner.

Nicely done, agree with all that's been said about voice overs (use someone with a bit of life in there voice) and the music.
I have to disagree about using youtube to inbed it into your site. I think a video hosted by the wbesite it's self looks far more professional. There's nothing stopping you from leaving it on youtube to advertise as well.

Looks a very smart outfit you have there and I wish I'd clicked on the link before now.

Youtube is getting a lot more "with it".

I agree there are better ways to do it - but a lot of much worse ones as well.

It seems to me the bigger the company the poncier their website and the worse the videos get - they spend millions on photoshoots with top models - helicopters etc etc and then you need a magnifying glass to watch it!!!

http://www.moonen.com/moonen/57_Yacht_video/9

One of my favourite boats - about £14 million and just look at the video!!!

Fortunately someone at Moonen is a fan of Youtube

Watch it in HQ - far more impressive but the people who go to their website never get to see it!!!

So I found myself with two takes on this, whadaya do? Here's both posts:

1. Quit whingin' you lot, ladies want to see the building with the toilet and the car park. The video is cool, I'd wouldn't have some nigel speiling over the top of it, any plank can SEE what's happening and if they can't read the text on the site, then PBL2 may not be for them.....

Way cool video - and wayhey, chix! Neat that you scored Ron to do the lead but you shouldn't have cut to the swans and the seaweed when it got to the "good" bits.

Very nice , my only comments ;

Keep the building / marina shots - reassuring to know you are in the right place when you turn up - there are lots of marinas in the area so inderectly the shots make it easier to know you are in the right place,

Bin the seaweed shots

Replace the music at the start with a decent voiceover , or voice over the music , but keep the music for the ' speed' bits to avoid the silence .

Worth putting any ' bad weather' shots to show the 'men' they can get all ' manly' if they want with the higher level stuff - voiced over / captioned to explain ?

Like the appeal of 2 ladies in the vid - however ( and probably about to be sexist/ un PC ) would a couple ( man & woman) be better? This a very very small observation .

Best observation - you seem to have my boat ( or one very similar) on your front page - 1st class - on this basis alone I am recommending everyone I know to you ! If I can find the cash I may even do some courses !

Well I liked it, didn't get bored. Agree with binning the seaweed shot and captioned /voice over explanation may help.

Overal good though. Sizewise it's ideal to see whats going on and the fact that videos are not on many other training sites. It shows who you are and what you do so in turn we know what to expect!

Let's face it when I did my course with you I had to look for your boat and hope you were on it because I hadn't ever actually met you!

Hi
And thanks re the video

Will speak to them and sort out a voice over introduction for the first couple of shots over the music.

I like the music myself and will see if they will bin the arty seaweed shot.

Thanks for helping out .

Jizm as I recall we had interesting sea conditions on your course but can't remember if you came to the Isle of Wight or if I came to you.

It was much nicer weather when your lovely wife and mate did their course.

Cheers
Tim

You picked me up from warsash Tim and if you had used that as your video it may have put people off! Interesting as you call it, certainly was!

Yeah, definitely.

Music on the video can be best described as 'corporate lift cheese' and puts me off. A voiceover would be far better.

Other than that and the arty seaweed shot, I rather like it!

'accommodation' in the second line after "Why Choose Us?" needs a second 'm'! It is spelt correctly elsewhere.

Agree with the need for a voiceover to reinforce the visual with audio. Short of using the video to actually show how to do it (which would remove the need to attend the course!), it's good promotion.

Missing m should go in today web designer is on the case,
Voice over should be done by next week so long as they don't make it sound too naff I will keep it on the website.

Thanks for all the comments they are useful when you see it from another angle .

Voice over I am thinking should include welome what we do and what we are going to do on the water . See vid of parking and speed then voice over as to how easy it is to get to the Island then end or something like that
Cheers
