Problems with Hedia, Qingdao Hedia Boat Co., Ltd China

Stay away from Hedia, Qingdao Hedia Boat Co., Ltd from China, I ordered my Aluminum Rib paid in full December 21st 2023 and as of today I have not received it. After I ordered I sent messages and they would not reply keeping me in the dark. until I started a claim 2.5 months later. There was no negotiating the prices I was given a price for the rib and shipping which I was happy with. I paid a deposit and after build completion I paid the balance. We later received a message stating they were sending to a different port than greed which is 2.5 days drive from me through some very dangerous areas and clearing it and all combined cost are 3X what I originally paid delivered. I explained this to them and I stated I need the shipment delivered to our agreed port of discharge. They refuse to deliver it there I have since received my funds back from my credit card company. They are still trying to trick me into paying these rediculous fees, now saying the port I was contracted to have it discharged at and customs clearing does not do customs. This is totally false we have things cleared here all the time.
Just wanted to let others know. Protect yourself do not pay them directly via wire transfer.

My RIB hull and tubes were made by Hedia.

I am in Canada, I purchased it from an importer in Ontario who potentially has a good relationship with them. He seems to be happy with his supplier anyways. Buying single units might introduce other types of logistics problems as opposed to buying one container at a time. It's awful that they're not communicative at all though, that's terrible.

I purchased an aluminum hull, 760RIB, with components to be assembled, from Hedia Boat in China in June 2025. My findings are as follows: the internal structural welding is insufficient, and the glue used to assemble the tubes is weak. Additionally, the way the tubes are attached to the hull is incorrect—there is too little contact point, allowing the tubes to be removed by hand with minimal effort.

I have had the hull re-welded and the tubes re-glued. Overall, the extra work I had to redo in Italy, combined with the cost of purchasing the RIB and shipping, was roughly the same as if I had bought the RIB in Europe. However, this process took additional time and caused unnecessary stress.

At Hedia Boats, they know how to do good work, but when dealing with private customers, they don't seem to put much care or effort into quality. These defects could have easily been avoided with a few extra hours of work, at almost no additional cost, to ensure better quality.

Conclusion: I would only recommend purchasing from Hedia Boat if you have someone who can visit the factory on your behalf during construction to check the quality of the work.

Thank you for posting - that is very informative. Did you take any photographs of the defects?

Hedia Boat – Official Clarification & Response
Thank you for sharing your experience. We take all customer feedback seriously and appreciate the opportunity to clarify our standard practices regarding international shipping and logistics.

At Hedia Boats, every international order is handled with documented confirmation of INCOTERMS, port of discharge, and shipping scope prior to booking. These confirmations form part of our standard operating procedures and are maintained in our records.
In international shipping, final routing and port allocation are subject to carrier availability, port operational constraints, customs regulations, and local compliance requirements. In rare cases, adjustments may be required after booking. When such situations arise, our policy is to inform customers promptly and discuss available options in a transparent manner.

We regret any frustration caused during this process and have since strengthened our internal communication checkpoints to ensure greater clarity for future projects. Our intention has never been to mislead or impose unexpected costs, but to manage complex international logistics in compliance with carrier and port regulations.

For customers seeking a clearer understanding of how we manage shipping, port confirmation, and logistics responsibilities, we have published a detailed explanation of our procedures on our official website:

Official Shipping & Port Explanation
https://www.cnhedia.com/newsinfo/1112931.html

We believe that transparent communication and clearly defined logistics responsibilities are essential for long-term international cooperation. We remain open to reviewing any order in detail and encourage direct communication through official channels so concerns can be addressed constructively.
