Pro-Sport RIBs... is it really an existing company?

Hi,

I´m trying now for almost one week to get somebody of that Prosport- Company located on Guernsey on the phone- does this guy Jason Norman and his company really exist or do I chase a phantom? What the f... is wrong there? Either you talk to an answeringmachine or your call can not be connected..... How in the world do I get informations on a RIB he wants to sell? An occasionally email with just a promise to call me back is all that I can achieve- maybe one of you guys knows a number I don`t have yet?
I have already understood that he`s pretty busy all the time, but nobody on earth and also not on Guernsey can be THAT busy..?!

greetings,
Wolfie

I took the trouble to fly out there and see the ribs and talk to Jason.
Chose not to buy from him on account of, I could never get hold of him.
Phones didnt get answered, E-mails took weeks to reply too.

Your not the only one struggling to talk to him.

Why cant we be busy in Guernsey? Yes he does exist was talkign tohim on phone and face to face the other day. Patience and timing and you will get through. It might be a shared phone fax line at the mo as C&W (Clueless and witless) have not been back to sort out tel lines and are useless.

Jason is a nice bloke who builds good ribs - he just doesn't have a clue how to run a business!!!!

His cousin Marc is much more switched on but he is away at the moment.

They have had a really tough time of it due to various supply probs but apparently that's all sorted now - they are just playing catchup!

I was down there on Tuesday evening they are definitely open for business and very busy. They're fixing my boat at the moment, so don't disturb them !!!!

Jason is very helpful when you get in touch. I spent weeks trying to phone, but the ONLY way to communicate is via e-mail, which they check several times a day.

He's got some lovely looking boats on teh go at the moment.

Thanks for all the answers-
seems like I`m not the only one with problems to get hold of him.... Actually I was interested in a used boat he has for sale right now but I`ll go some place else and buy there..... it`s absolutly useless to waste another couple of weeks since I really can think about some better things to do in my leisure time!
Why don´t they just cut their telephone-lines and switch back to the good old message in a bottle? That`ll be even cheaper with the same results.......

greetings
Wolfie

Based upon the above.........

.............comments, I'd buy something else and from someone a little closer to home. If this is the way you feel whilst trying to spend a lot of money with a company, how on earth do you think you'll get treated when trying to resolve a problem ? ZODIAC ZODIAC ZODIAC ZODIAC....shall I go on ?

I bought a ProSport several months ago, I read a few posts regarding the problems some people have had contacting people at the factory. I have had a few occasions when I have wanted to discuss various issues, only very minor problems or just wanted to know more about the boat. On each occasion I have had a response within 1 working day. In fact in the last month they have answered the phone every time.

Perhaps I have been lucky but I thought it is only right to state my observations.

Worth it in the end

Bit slow at first getting through to Jason
But after a trip to Guernsey, well worth it the 6.5m we went out in was the best i had been, in really nice ride, very very smooth no slamming like some others i had been in, Jason seams a really nice young lad who is passionate about his ribs, cant wait till mine is finished

Ted.

I have been told.....but this could be complete b*ll*cks......that he is having problems with the warehouse that he builds them in i.e. the owner wants it back. Not sure if he's found other premises or even if he's left the ones he's in, but could explain what's going on.

The least he could do is stick a notice on his website explaining the difficulties and then people maybe a little more understanding.

One of my friends has a pro-sport and is very happy with it and the support he recieved from Jason when he bumped the skeg and prop.

I too was very interested in a new 8.5m rib from Jason. After many attempts and eventually getting a bit sh**y with one of his workers he did call me back. Very nice & helpful but too interested in working the radio elsewhere - I gave up in frustration and took my cash to a more commercially aware operation.

I don't think its so much that the landlord wants it back, more that the site is being redeveloped so they will be moving soon.

Do you know if he's managed to find other premises yet? I can imagine it's a rather large pain in the bum to have to move!
