Press studs for cushions

Hi, I just had a replacement bow cushion made up as the first is somewhere between Plymouth & Liverpool ( not me, vendor did it). There are 3 round female fittings screwed on the front hatch to secure the cushion down so I am after 3 round male fittings to attach to my new bow cushion.

I just searched this forum & a previous post suggested a car hood trimmer. Googling doesnīt help much & there isnīt a car hood trimmer near here in Spain. Anyone got any suggestions where I can get just 3 male fittings (I think they are about 10 mm but will measure properly tomorrow).

The local chandlery sell a box of 10 for 15 E, do they just push on with a set of pliers?

Appreciate any advice or alternatives for fixing - I donīt want to velco them in or put a strap round the hatch lid. Suppose I could just sit on it!

Hi,

I think if I understand you correctly you need the lower two bits from the pic below, you will need a punch and a hammer to flatten the metal attachment.

My sailloft department here deals with a company called Kayospruce in the UK, very helpful, even just to use the web site for referance. http://www.sailcloth.co.uk/

hope this is some help,

Nick

Hi

I have 3 of each part you could have and don't mind posting them if its not too much, however I'm in Malaysia on business at the moment so would not be able to send them for another week.

I purchased a few to fix a visor to a Gecko I brought that was only set up to use Goggles.

Hi Nasher, thanks for the offer & much appreciated. 3 of each part would be ideal as I donīt need to get the exact match to the existing ones. Please just confirm that one part screws in the deck & the other attaches to the cushion.

There is no urgency & I can give you a UK address to send them to, just pm me with the cost & I will reimburse the product & postage cost.

Job well done!
