Paglesham, Essex slip.

Thinking about launching at Paglesham, Essex. Anybody here launched there ever?? Looks OK on Boatlaunch.

I won't hold my breath for replies!

Cheers

Never launched there so can't comment other than if you want to go on the Crouch or Roach (which are both pretty boring rivers IMHO) you can also launch at Hullbridge or Burnham Yacht Harbour. Hullbridge is pretty much HW +- 2hrs unless you have a 4x4 and cant get busy with waterskiers on a sunny day. Burnham YH dont encourage speedboats but seem perfectly fine with RIBS! Can't remember what they charge but slip is good and I think all tides access.

HTH,
Alan

Royal Burnham Yacht Club not good enough for you, eh? Don't know about Paglesham but I did enquire at Essex Marina on neighbouring Wallasea Island (or is that the one you mean?) and they charge £16 - apparently in order to discourage a surfeit of private boaters

Bradwell is probably my first choice (although the Thames was great, closer - and free!) - Sorry Dan!

I also like Burnham, but mainly cause it has a chandlery and a very pleasant restaurant/bar to wind down in without leaving the marina!

Paglesham is actually nearer - but actually it's a mate who want's to know. Naturally I'm happy to travel a few more miles so's I can spend my leisure time with Phil Davies. Cough....cough....splutter....

No, Paglesam is further up the Roach. I see Essex Marina has a web site but they're not mentioned on boatlaunch.co.uk. £16 is very OTT.
