I sold my Viper 5.75 with a Suzuki 140 (all 1998) for €10,000 that might give you an idea of the price. Although the buyer got a bargain IMO

Never said I liked doing that....it's just my quick way of rinsing the deck.

Are you saying that I'll need to fork out extra cash for a hosepipe if I get an Osprey

Have you considered the Explorer range Dai? They are built Near Rock in Cornwall. They make a statement in the Styling dept. The 'fence' type of consol would by up your street.http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F116609/

You could have hours of fun backing the throttle off and drowning the occupants of those transom seats.

Ok - thanks for all the advice on this.

Now, does anyone know of one of these (either make) for sale, dirt cheap, as a winter bargain? Something they can't wait to get rid of?

If you do, please pm me - don't want the whole world knowing about it

Decision made after much deliberation.

Came within inches of buying a very nice looking Ribcraft 585, but it didn't happen and I now have an Osprey Vipermax 5.8 on order.

You lot must be really convincing, as I haven't even driven one

Cool

Would be interested to hear more about it when you get it as it is one possibility on my shortlist

More photos would be good too as the Osprey website is a bit rubbish.

But won't you miss the occasional wall of water over the boat? I gather it's most invigorating.

I know the feeling Andy.

When I had my Gemini I had the smallest and lowest powered RIB of the Littlehampton RIBsters.

Well chuffed with my Vipermax with its 150 Opti horses. No longer have the smallest and lowest powered. Now I have a boat of equal length with a more powerful engine than the rest.

Oh no, not for bloody long.

Andre now has that flamin great grey Parker thing with the spare engine from the QM 2, Tony changed his XS up to 7 metres with a 225 Opti and Steve Green changed his 115 ficht for a 175 E-tec on the back of his 6.5 metre Ballistic.

Now I'm back to having the lowest amount of power AGAIN!!!

Good luck with the Viper Downhilldai.

A wise choice!!!

Thanks Phil. What prop are you running on yours and what sort of performance are you getting with it in terms of top speed and max RPM?
