I'm no expert but having looked at both at the recent boatlife show I came away with the opinion that the Brig kit is superior to the Zodiac..but in fairness you would be fine with either.

Brig builds some really nice ribs. Good quality and great designs. Having grown up with my father working for zodiac, i was always a big fan zodiac boats. I have had dozens over the years. However i do not think more recent boats are as nicely designed as the older models.

Aren't Brig's built in the Ukraine?

If so they must be in a bit of a pickle at present,.

Poor guys, hard work to build up a great global brand, let's hope they recover soon.

Yes they are, as are several other brands. I spoke with one of the reps and we spoke about how we thought Putin was just showboating .....how wrong were we!

thanks

thanks all for your replies, I was beginning to think I may have asked something offensive as no one had anything to say on the subject for ages.

Since I posted the decision has been somewhat taken out of my hands by Putin, there are pretty much zero second hand Brigs available and the new ones were in production in Kharkiv, strongly suspect they may be toast now.

The briliant Neil at Rock Marine is helping me out with a loan boat until he can get me a zodiac so I am going with that...I think I have been pretty lucky all round really as at one point I thought I might not have a boat at all this summer....im pleased that this is my only thing to worry about unlike the peeps in Ukraine.
