But true. We all know Codders and the way that he operates. Unfortunately, he feels the need to reply to every petty accusation. The whole Prosport thing has been trawled over at length on too many occasions. The poor guy that started this thread is seeking advice re. the brand, he doesn't need all of this crap.

Sorry Paul got carried away with the force 9 nonsense

So I will give my opinion on the two 8mt prosports I know of and have spent many hours on.........

quite a good ride even in the rough, smooth landing of waves, nice and nippy,
awful build quality, massive problems with tube quality, NO after sales help.
Would I buy one second hand? NO!

For the price that was paid for the prosports at the time, you got what you paid for...like most things in life!

The tube quality problems were dependent on who made the tubes - mine are excellent - built by Paul Tilley.

Considering the tubes are one of the most vital parts of a RIB it does pay to consider who made them..........

Good Grief!! I agree with the Codmeister... No, it's not going to be a "fast" boat, but that ain't everyone's cup of tea.
If you decide to look at it, it's worth looking at very carefully, as there are certain "quality issues" with some Prosports ..and I'm talking first hand knowledge, not hearsay, before Codders jumps in... Trial it, inspect it and test it preferably with someone in tow who knows what idiosyncrasies to look for… such as GRP fuel tank condition if that’s what it’s got.., Wiring and fuel hoses Etc.... then make your mind up...

Mainly because it's grossly under-powered and having sufficient power is not about speed. It's about usability and safety. Put a 1000cc engine in a Ford Mondeo and you won't end up with a good car for the guy that's not interested in speed.'pup'.

Yeh, but given it's a fairly chunky diesel, its torque is likely to be high at lowish revs and, therefore, so will its power be. It may not reach high maximum power but it may well be very drivable just the same. Volvo also produce a 190hp version so that bodes well for the reliability of the 130.

I have driven that boat and engine combo and although not a fast boat it's not underpowered.
If you can live with the slow cruising speed then it'll do you fine and be very economical

So are Pacific 22's dangerously underpowered too?
